In The Wave the archaeological gaze of the viewer is set in motion: a mass grave from the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) opens and closes itself. The Wave by Sarah Vanagt & Katrien Vermeire consists of a film, a photo wall and a series of flipbooks.
The Wave is produced by Balthasar. The project is kindly supported by The Flemish Audiovisual Fund (VAF) and Michigan Films (Brussels, Belgium), Transat Video (Caen, France), Vooruit (Ghent, Belgium), Beursschouwburg (Brussels, Belgium). The flipbooks are co-produced by Printroom. PrintRoom is powered by the Mondrian Fund (The Netherlands) and dKC Rotterdam (The Netherlands).
